Everyone has their own unique style of traveling. It's something that is worth developing. Based on my recent experience, in this article I will share with you tips that can be your inspiration which will enrich and enliven your next trips. Here are 7 ways to make your travel a truly unique and memorable experience:
1 Select a location away from mass tourism. The most popular destinations are losing their charm because of the crowds, junk souvenirs from China, trinkets and fees everywhere. If you want to experience the true spirit of the country you visit, select a less visited areas. Start by selecting the continent, country, region. The Google Map or Google Earth will give you a hand. If you want to verify that the selected place is a good idea, search the web for pictures and videos, so you'll see everything from "the inside". From the forums (such as TripAdvisor or VirtualTourist), you will learn more about the character of this place.
2 Find the perfect accommodation. This is very important especially if you are going for more than a week. In case of short trip, you do not spend a lot of time in residence . However, choosing a good place significantly affects to your experience of the country to which you came. Take the place in which you feel comfortable and well. For a longer trip it is a good idea to come 2-3 days earlier and to find a accommodation on your own. You may find some 'nuts' and you are able to see the place on your own eyes.
3 Consider combing work and travel. My last two trips were a little bit longer just because I connected them with a remote work. This allowed me to feel the atmosphere and lifestyle of the place, and not just to "check" more points of the guide. Of course, this way is not for everyone - some of you will not feel good taking a job on a journey, others simply may not have that option. However, it is worth trying, because you can definitely see more of the world. I was effectively fulfilling key tasks and in the afternoon I set off to explore the surrounding areas.
