Pauper Daily Events are gone permanently

When Daily Events returned on December 11th, Pauper and Momir Daily Events were notoriously missing.

Here is the announcement: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/other/12092013/eventsreturn

Pauper were the 2nd most popular Daily Events, second only to Standard. The +EV nature of the Daily Events made Pauper grow as a format and put some commons (Daze is the best example) over 10 tickets. What will now happen to the extremely valuable commons that are the Pauper staples?

In this video the podcast Pauper to the People discuss the change: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIW8Gx0HwzE

Adjust your buy prices

Buying the Pauper staples (you can see a list of them at the bottom of this article: http://puremtgo.com/articles/state-program-december-6-2013  ) does now mean you are taking on significant risk. It is up to you how you handle this risk, but do not underestimate how much the Pauper dailies have supported these very brittle prices. Rolling Thunder dropped 90% in price due to a small increase in supply from the Tempest drafts. If demand is significantly affected by this change, price drops of 90-95% for cards that are not supported by Legacy/Classic/Vintage are not unlikely. Act accordingly.

The sky might not be falling .... but then again, it might be.

I am not buying any Pauper cards for at least a week until I see how the market reacts.
