Improved Wikiprice Updater


One of the limit of the current implementation of wikiprice (http://mtgowikiprice.serverlet.com/wiki.php) is that some bots get frequent updates and thus are always displayed on wikiprice, while some others do not. "BotA" could refresh its prices twice a day, while "botB" could refresh once every 2/3 days.

This issue is due to a number of factors, most important the uptime of your bot(s), but also the algorithm that refreshes the prices. Regardless, it's a loss of money for some bots.

Today we released an improved version of wikiprice that updates the bots more equally. If you used to have problem with wikiprice, this should fix. Please wait 48h hours and then search again for your bots on wikiprice!

    How do I search for Æther Vial in the wikiprice?
    AE, ae, Æ, æ don't work.

    At the moment you cannot, I'm sorry! Boosters and cards with strange letters (such as Jotun Wurn) cannot be searched yet

    it's OCR thing, right? Bot can't recognize the sign?
    and they changed Jötun to just Jotun

    It's not an OCR thing, it's the way wikiprice parses the input of the user... it's something connected with the encoding of the characters. Definitely something I will fix as soon as I have some spare time.

    can't you make it searchable by two letters AE and consider this card is Aether Vial not Æther Vial?

      I would like to second this request. Being able to search by AEther rather than the other format would be great. I don't typically memorize the alt+cmd(s)

      he means that typing Æther Vial doesnt work.

    Hi Albert,
    About how long will the updates take, before we start to see the Sorin vs. Tibalt cards coming through? Did a search for hellrider and browbeat and still nothing.

      Thanks Carlos, I know how to fix the issue :-) I just need some spare time to tackle it. Unfortunately with V4 coming out, my attention is mostly focused elsewhere.

    Hi, I feel the need to bump this. Aetherling is quite important to be searchable (IMO, since it is one of the most expensive current rare cards).

    Hope you will find time to fix this in the near future. Hope you don't find the bump annoying. I'm very happy with MTGO Library. Keep up the good work :)
