The General Tab of the bot is used for dealing with all of the features that are the “Core” of the bot itself. Settings on this page are very important in the success of your bot business. Calibrating these settings is simple and easy to apply. In this guide, we will explain the functionality each line of this tab .
Section A: This section is your basic login information, after entering this information please click
on the Account tab and click refresh to see if your Password and user name are correct.
“Recently Used”- This drop down menu has all the bot names saved that have been used
previously. Each bot settings are stored individually allowing you to run different bots with different settings.

“Username”- Here you enter the name of your bot that you registered with Mtgolibrary.
“Mtgo Password”- Here you enter your bots Magic Online Password.
“Bot Password”- Here you enter your password that you registered with on mtgolibrary.
Section B: This section goes over a few miscellaneous settings
“Maximum Trading time”- This is a setting which will govern the amount of time a trade will be
allowed to take. After this time if a trade isn't complete the bot will cancel trade.
“Maximum Inactivity time”- This is a setting which will govern the amount of time the bot will allow a customer to be inactive and will cancel trade when max time has been reached.
“Restart mtgo every”- This is a feature that will allow you to set a MTGO Client to restart every X
Hours. (This feature is recommended)
“Delete trade screenshots older than”- This is a setting that you can set to delete all your trade
screenshots that are stored on your computer after 1 week all the way to 12 months. If you wish to
keep extensive records it is recommended that you use a portable drive to store all your
screenshots, as this may cause the user to use up substantial hard drive space.
“Download mtgolibrary.com prices every”- This feature will allow each user to set a timeframe to
download prices from the MTGOLibrary database. Pricelists downloads are not free, you will be
charged to your account at the rate of 0.20 Event Tickets per download unless you are a Pro license subscriber.
“On Wednesday, wait before trying to relog”- This feature will stagger your attempts to relog after Wednesdays downtime for maintenance by the MTGO Client. This feature is important if you see lag from multiple accounts attempting to relog at the same time and will relieve this issue.
Section C: These are just a few command to while the bot is operation.
“Kill”- You can shutdown the bot by holding alt, then pressing x (ALT +X)
“Pause”- You can pause the bot for up to 10 minutes by holding CTRL, then pressing P (CTRL + P)
This is useful when making quick price changes. You can hold CTRL and press P (CTRL + P) again to resume.
Section D: This section will reflect on how the bot interacts with the customers and explain a few miscellaneous settings.
“Launch the bot at PC’s boot”- This box can be checked to allow the bot to launch when your
computer is restarted. This reduces your downtime should you have a power outage or a
scheduled restart of your computer.
“Mark all cards tradable”- This box can be checked to force the bot to make all your cards in your
collection placed into your ACTIVE TRADE binder.
“Make tickets tradable”- This box can be checked to force the bot to make your entire EVENT TICKETS inventory available in your ACTIVE TRADE binder.
“Bot type”- this section is for your selection of what type of bot you wish to be running for your
operation, check boxes are placed for selection of these features.
“Seller”- This box allows your bot to sell your items in your ACTIVE TRADE binder to potential buyers.
“Buyer”- This allows your bot to buy cards from other users who are selling items to your store.
“Automatically pick cards”- This box can be checked to allow your store to automatically search for
cards that you are looking to buy.
“Deal with”- This is a drop down menu that will allow you to select a means to accomplish the Seller and Buyer Function listed above. You have 2 choices; Choice #1 is “Cards and Tix”. This option will use tickets and cards to buy cards you are looking for. Choice #2 is “Cards only”, this means you
will only trade cards for other cards and not use any tickets at all.
Section E:
“Download Mtgolibrary.com prices when launching”- This will automatically download the MTGO
Library prices (at the rate of 0.02 tickets per download) each time the bot is started back up.
“Free download mtgolibrary.com prices at update”- This is a free update of prices from
Mtgolibrary.com whenever the bots version is updated for free.
“Use PersonalPercentages.txt”- This function performs corrections to the CardsMTGO.txt file
located in your prices folder by adjusting those cards based off of percentages you set up in your
PersonalPercentages folder. Examples are inside the file for more guidance.
“Use PersonalPrices.txt”- This is a file that you place into your “Prices Folder” within the bot. This
file acts as an override to your normal prices in your CardsMTGO.txt file also in your folder. This file allows you to have more manual control over the cards you wish to target for buying and selling.
Note: This is more time consuming and will require much more attention than normal pricing, as
prices shift you will have to be careful to not get caught with out of date prices in this file. The format for the way this text file needs to be set up is listed within the file itself and has easy to follow
examples provided by MTGOLibrary staff.
NOTE: Both PersonalPercentages.txt and PersonalPrices.txt can have multiple .txt files pertaining to
themselves. Examples: PersonalPercentages_Standard.txt or PersonalPrices_Modern.txt. It is
important to use the underscore as separation. This will allow you even more control of your prices
so you have different settings for different blocks of cards.
“Check Seller/Buyer price consistency”- This option will do a check of prices for inconsistent pricing. For example if you accidentally put a buying price as your selling price, this setting will swap
the prices to make it so that you’re buying for less than you are selling for. If you select the silent
feature on any of these options on this page, the function will not notify you of the change and will do the action automatically. If you do not select the silent feature you will be prompted to problem
and given the choice to correct the issue manually.
“Reset to default”- This will reset all options back to the original settings from when you first
downloaded the program.
“Price folder”- This option opens up your prices folder within the programs folder itself and allows
the user to see what files it contains.
“Switch to LITE”- This option will swap from Pro Version to Lite Version, basically changing your bot from a bot that buys individual cards for individual prices, to a Bulk Buying/Selling Bot which buys X amount of cards for X amount of tickets.
“Screenshot Folder”- This option takes you to the folder that contains all your screenshots within the Programs folder.
