MTGO Library Bot 11.41 released

Yesterday we announced ML Bot 11.41 (the "gentle-login" bot). You can read more about the release here: http://mtgolibrary.blogspot.com/2016/08/mtgo-library-bot-1141.html.  We officially released it.

We will force an update via server in a couple of days. Still please make sure you update your bots before next Wednesday.

MTGO Library Bot 11.41

Yesterday some ML Bot users had issues with the MTGO login. According to WotC, it is no more allowed to try login every couple of minutes (like the bot does) during the server downtime. Trying the login frequently is considered a violation of the ToS, section 10:
(d) taking actions that impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on Wizards' network infrastructure or that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any of Wizards' websites or other services.”

ML Bot users that had the option "on Wednesday, wait before relog" activated were already ToS-compliant. Some ML Bot users that did not, had their IP banned for 24-hours. Please note that you can circumvent the ban easily by changing your IP address. If you are familiar with software like Tor, or HMA, this should be pretty straightforward. If you don't want to change your IP, or you cannot, then you just have wait some hours for your IP to be automatically unbanned.

We are now in the process of releasing a bot update (11.41) that will respect the downtimes so next Wednesday there will not be problems. In a nutshell, during the downtime the bot will sit idle and will not try the login.

Within ML Bot 11.41 we also implemented:

  • support for TransferCollection.txt files up to 500 lines long (previous support was max 200 lines)
  • fixed a rare bug with the Classified messaged that resulted in empty classified messages
  • a 15%-20% speed up in trades, due to internal code optimization

MTGO Library Bot 11.06

Yesterday Wizards of the Coast deployed a Mtgo update with an internal refactor. After the update the bot was not working properly. After few hours we released a bot client update (version 11.06) to address the issues and restored the fully functionality. We forced the update on all the bots from remote, so you probably already have version 11.06 on your bot.
Today we will release a minor update (11.07) to tune and better integrare the bot.

MTGO Library Bot 10.76 and 10.77

Today we released ML Bot 10.76 and 10.77, two updates fixing some minor issues with OGW. In particular we fixed a problem with the pricing of "Wastes". The bot was unable to set the price of the second copy via PersonalPrices.txt  - only the first Wastes was priced.

Spike Protection Tool

Have you ever been in this situation: a card spikes in price, and your bot buys at the new high price just as the card drops back down? You end up losing money because your bot's been tricked by a temporary spike in value.
Spikes are quite common on MTGO and we know that they pose a big risk for botters.

To protect our customers, we are introducing the new “Spike Tool”.

The Spike Tool uses a heuristic to spot sudden increases in price on cards valued over .5 tix. When a card spikes in price, the bot will keep the buy price at the lower pre-spike price.
A similar safety net will be applied if a card spikes DOWN in price. The bot will keep the sell price at the higher pre-spike price.

The Spike Tool will be automatically activated on all bots starting today. We've initialized the tool with some light parameters. We recommend that you keep it active for the next few days and adjust it as needed.

MTGO Library Bot 10.21

In the last days we released a couple of major ML Bot updates.

The most important one is ML Bot 10.16, that moved the entire Profit & Margin tool to the online control panel. This let you change the prices in real time, without restarting the bot and from a unique panel. If you have many bots and you want to adjust their prices, you can do it here without accessing the virtual machines. This will save time and make things easier.

We also expanded the tool and let you choose a % correction for price ranges and rarity - you can have, for example, a thin margin on 50+ tixs cards and a large margin on commons.

We also introduced a new option for the "Refill" autotransfer mode, adding the "leave on donor bot at least X cards" option. This basically allows you to specify a refill target (exactly as before) but, if set > 0 , will respect the donor bot and will leave them at least "X" copies of each card.
The previous mode, without that option, worked with the X number equals to "0".

We hope you will enjoy the changes. In the next week we will have many updates regarding pricing, with more tools to offer you control over pricing. We feel that ML Bot is now technically very stable and able to cope efficiently with the MTGO client - we will now work on pricing tools to make your botting life easier.

MTGO Library Bot 8.93

We have just released ML Bot 8.93. This is a minor build adding some debug messages while loading the collection from the MTGO xml files.
We also fixed a background price reloader bug happening on Windows 8.1.

MTGO Library Bot 9.76 and 9.77

We have just released ML Bot 9.76 and 9.77. The update fixes a crash happening on the LITE bots that were unable to start displaying an error. The update is required for the LITE bots because 9.75 does not work in LITE mode (the crash appears immediately, you cannot even launch the bot) .

MTGO Library Bot 9.72

We have just released ML Bot 9.72, fixing a problem with MTGO freezing on slow computers with large collections (>10'000 unique items). The freeze was subtle because the MTGO account appeared as 'online' but it was unable to trade (until MTGO restart).
We found that at least 5% of all the bots have been affected at least once by the problem, so an update is highly welcome.

MTGO Library Bot 9.63 - Tempest Remastered

We have just released ML Bot 9.63 supporting Tempest Remastered (TPR). The updated pricelist is available for download on the Online Control Panel and for free during the update process.
As usual LITE bot users should update their bots as well.
Don't forget that prices are very volatile during the first days of  a new set.

MTGO Library Bot 9.59

We released ML Bot 9.59 right after the downtime to fix a problem with opening the trades. The MTGO update changed the position of the "new chat" button and the bots were chatting in the "Support Area" instead of opening a new chat.

We released the update few minutes ago and forced a mass update. We contacted ORCS to explain the issue. Please check you bots and please update if they are version less than 9.59.

MTGO Library Bot 9.42

ML Bot 9.42 is a major update addressing speed issues (mainly Mtgo speed issues).

  • We worked hard to make the bot interact lighter with Mtgo with the final goal of having less freezes. In fact every time Mtgo freezes you lose 15-20 seconds and your customers won't be happy. Of course we cannot simply "fix" Mtgo and make it fast, but we can try to act as light as possible in order to avoid unnecessary freezes.
  • Picking cards via wishlist will now cause less freezes - in the end the bot will faster in buying mode
  • ML Bot 9.42 fixes also a problem with the chat messages and the "@" symbol - the bot was unable to send it with the result that email addresses got trimmed.
  • Card quote messages are now simplified in order to have less "wall of texts", less clutter, in the chats
  • Login is now 7 seconds faster

Before adding new functionalities we will work on speed. This is necessary because, Wednesday after Wednesday, Mtgo became slower and slower and demanding more resources.

MTGO Library Bot 9.40

With ML Bot version 9.40 we fixed the function "restart Mtgo every X hours". The function is located on the General Tab of the bot client and it restarts Mtgo to avoid generic system instabilities.
That function was not working properly in previous bot versions - the bot was simply ignoring it and not  restarting Mtgo. With ML Bot 9.40 we fixed the bug and now the bot restarts Mtgo correctly. We strongly suggest to restart Mtgo every 3 - 4 hours.

ML Bot 9.40 fixes also a curl crash happening on screen with the error message "cURL has stopped working".

Finally we observed that many customers, when buying cards, do not have enough tixs in the active trade binder. The bot now writes an explicit message saying "You have only X tixs tradable, please add more to your active trade binder" instead of the generic message "You do not have enough tixs".

MTGO Library Bot 9.33 and 9.34

Yesterday we released ML Bot 9.33 and 9.34. These two versions improve version 9.32 (http://mtgolibrary.blogspot.com/2015/03/mtgo-library-bot-932.html) and introduces some speed ups.

The login is now faster and the bot does not reload the collection twice when starting. The overall speed up is around 15-25 seconds. We also changed slightly the way the bot clicks the "Submit" button to make sure MTGO does not lag while pressing it. If mtgo lags there it could miss the click and does not move to the final confirm window.

MTGO Library Bot 9.32

ML Bot 9.32 is a major bot update introducing stability fixes and new features.

  • The tracking of the inventory and of the tradable items has been rewritten. This was necessary because 3 weeks ago MTGO changed the way it handles the collections xml files and the bot needed to adapt.
  • We added the removal of multiple cards in buying mode, for example by typing "1 3! 5" in the chat.
  • We added to command "type 0 to remove all" in buying mode
  • The bot now detects faster the blinking of the submit button
  • On larger screens, the lateral Info Panel will expand till 500 pixels, for better readability

There are many other little things we did under the hood to improve performances and stability - we are sure you will like ML Bot 9.32 and that it will lead to better businesses.

MTGO Library Bot 9.16

Today MTGO update broke the "opening of the trades", used in AutoTransfer modes. Basically, WotC changed the height of the contextual menus and thus the bot was unable to click them properly.

ML Bot 9.16 fixes the problem. The update is strongly recommended.

MTGO Library Bot 9.07

We worked hard this week to deliver today ML Bot 9.07. This is a major update fixing and improving many things under the hood.

The most important improvement is that now the bot is fully synchronized with wikiprice when overselling and overbuying protections trigger. Older versions of the bot were not able to communicate to wikiprice that they were overprotecting a card and so (for example) that the selling price was higher (or the buying price was lower). While this happens rarely and only on few cards, it was annoying and reduced wikiprice usability.
We also fixed a problem with reading the chat and reloading the collection happening on Windows 8.1

In the end, update 9.07 contains many improvements that you "won't see" but that will surely help your business.

MTGO Library Bot 9.05 - remote stop and start

ML Bot 9.05 is the first major update of 2015. We are proud to announce the "remote start and stop system", meaning that you can now start and/or stop your bot(s) from remote simply by pressing a button on the Online Control Panel.
This function works only with bot version greater than 9.04 so if you are using an older version this won't work.

To use the tool please navigate to the MultiMonitor. After few seconds an orange button will appear close to each bot name (an orange button, or a blue button). Press the button and confirm the alert to send a shutdown command and stop the bot. Press the button again to send a "start" command and start the bot. All the commands are sent via push notification, so the bot will execute them immediately, without any delay.

As we did last month for SpecialBuddies, the goal is to provide a full remote access in order to control and intervene from everywhere. As time goes by we will move more and more features into the Online Control Panel and will centralize everything there.

MTGO Library Bot 9.03

ML Bot 9.03 fixes a strange bug of Mtgo v4, resulting in your bot being "online" (apparently) but offline for the rest of the world.

The bug is pretty bizarre because on the client the bot results perfectly online (for example you can move the mtgo client, navigate the tabs, browse the collection, adjust the settings and so on...) but the rest of the world will see you offline and you won't be able to receive any trade request!

MTGO Library Bot 8.69

ML Bot 8.69 contains a number of fixes. In particular:

  • fixed a crash on Windows 8.1 when loading the prices
  • fixed a crash on "LauncherGUIChecker.exe"
  • the click on the "confirm" button in final confirm window is now more reliable - sometimes the bot was unable to perform the trade because MTGO "missed" the click on the button (probably due to a lag in the game)
  • fixed a problem with the login screen, probably introduced with Wednesday MTGO update
  • fixed the % loader of the Collection, no more going to 150%
