Upcoming MTGO Library Improvements

I am excited to annouce MTGO Library will be making some major improvements in the upcoming months.  As I mentioned in a prior article, there will be a new price updater that will be launched in October. In the image below you see a work-in-progress preview, so don't take it as final.

In November there will be improvements to MTGO Wikiprice with increased search speeds, the grouping of reprinted cards into one search page (In other words, if want Tarmogoyf, you don't have to search 3 different sets), and possibly a universal credit system for all ML bots to share credits.

After Christmas / January 2017, a Webshop for Wikiprice will be launched.  The new Webshop will allow customers to purchase from any bot using paypal or credit card.  And then grab the cards on single bots, or on a wikiprice collector bot (so one trade).  The goal is to make Mtgo Wikiprice a better place to shop.

New Pricing System Coming Soon

Mtgo Library is currently working on a major improvement to the background price updater that will be released in October.  It is a total rewrite of the current one with a more advanced algorithm. The new pricing system will be dynamic and will allow the bot to follow the market immediately with two extra controls based on current sales and inventory stock.  As always, Mtgo Library continues to make investments to keep their bots on the cutting-edge.

MTGO Library Bot 10.21

In the last days we released a couple of major ML Bot updates.

The most important one is ML Bot 10.16, that moved the entire Profit & Margin tool to the online control panel. This let you change the prices in real time, without restarting the bot and from a unique panel. If you have many bots and you want to adjust their prices, you can do it here without accessing the virtual machines. This will save time and make things easier.

We also expanded the tool and let you choose a % correction for price ranges and rarity - you can have, for example, a thin margin on 50+ tixs cards and a large margin on commons.

We also introduced a new option for the "Refill" autotransfer mode, adding the "leave on donor bot at least X cards" option. This basically allows you to specify a refill target (exactly as before) but, if set > 0 , will respect the donor bot and will leave them at least "X" copies of each card.
The previous mode, without that option, worked with the X number equals to "0".

We hope you will enjoy the changes. In the next week we will have many updates regarding pricing, with more tools to offer you control over pricing. We feel that ML Bot is now technically very stable and able to cope efficiently with the MTGO client - we will now work on pricing tools to make your botting life easier.

Extended sell & buy price consistency

Yesterday we updated the server to handle the Sell (and Buy) price consistency "over" the maximum protection values of 100%. You can now choose 110% and 105% . What does this mean?

Setting a value higher than 100% (for example 105% or 110%) results in trades with a profit. Please note that if your protection percentage is set too high for too long you risk not selling the card, and therefore not re-buying it at the market value. This may result in a lower than normal inventory rotation and an overall loss in profits. Remember that some cards fall in price and if you don't keep up with the market you may be holding onto the card for too long.

Coming soon: Prices and Margin Tab

In two weeks we will be making some changes to our pricing structure, this will include a format change of the official pricelist CardsMTGO.txt and the addition of a brand new tab to the Bot UI (Prices and Margins tab). You have to do nothing, no action is required from you.

First lets talk about the format change of the CardsMTGO.txt file. We will be removing the buy prices. Example of the current cardsmtgo.txt file.

CardsMTGO.txt will just include non-Foil and Foil selling prices. This is part of the new margin concept we will be explaining in the next section.


New Prices and margins tab introduction:

Currently in the Price adjustment tab you are able to adjust the CardsMTGO.txt files selling prices and buying prices.

This works fine, but there are some problems. For example: what is your profit? Are you now selling your Tarmogoyf for 50 and buying for 35 or selling for 55 and buying for 40? Since there is no way for you to control the official buying price, you simply don't know.

Next week the Price Adjustment tab will retire and will be replaced by an easier to understand tab, named "Prices and Margins". The tool will allow you to define the correction of the selling price over the official sell price contained in CardsMTGO.txt  and the buying price as margin parallel to the selling price in percent.

The buying price will be computed no more as % of the official buying price, but as % of the official selling price. The official buying price will disappear from CardMTGO.txt since it will be no more necessary. As said above, the new CardsMTGO.txt will be like this:

and, with -7% and a margin of 10%, you will sell Tarmogoyf at 51.298 and buy it for 46.10 , Having the selling price at 51.298 and the buying at 46.10 means that your margin is 10%.

The migration to the new format will happen automatically: the bot will translate your current settings into the new settings, keeping your prices unaltered, exactly as they are now.

MTGO Library Bot 8.89

Please make sure you do not use any SpecialBuddies.txt file and that all your buddies are correctly inserted on the server.

Control Panel v4 - Buy & Sell Prices - Bot Manual

(This section applies only to PRO bots).

In this section we will cover how to set your price corrections over the official MTGOLibrary Pricelist (CardsMTGO.txt file).

Section A - D: 

Here you will be able to choose a correction per rarity: Mythic, Rare, Uncommon, and Common; And by commodity: Non- Foil and Foil. Then adjust sections E and F as you please. 

Section E: Correction %  

This will adjust your sell price compared to the cardsmtgo.txt file located in your prices folder. If a card is 1 tix and you chose a 5% adjustment you will now be selling it at 1.05 tixs. You can have a different percent for each price range. Play test with different setting until you feel you have the pricing you desire. 

Section F: Profit Margin 

This is a margin in percentage compared to your adjusted sell price, this will formulate your purchase price. So for example if you are selling a card for 1 tix and your correction percentages is 5% and your margin% is 10%  sell price is 1.05 and your buy price (10% of 1.05) is 0.945.

Section G: Bot selection

When you are finished adjusting you corrections and margins you need to decide which bots you want to apply this pricing to you can do a single bot all your bots or all the bots in a certain chain.

You can define correction and profit margin numbers independently for each rarity and for each price range. The idea behind different corrections for different price ranges is that you may want to profit 20% on a 1 tix card (giving you 0.20 tix profit) but be happy to profit just 10% on a 10 tix card (giving you 1 tix profit) or even just 5% on cards worth over 50 tix (giving you 2.50+ tix profit per card). 


Any other adjustments or limits, such as Personal Percentages and Price Limits will only be applied on these computed sell and buy prices at the end. This means that if Jace, Vryns Prodigy was computed to be sold at 0.138 tix and bought for 0.110 tix (as shown above) and you have a minimum sell price of 1 tix, the buy price will remain 0.110 (assuming you don't have a buying price limit or it's higher than 0.110)
